Among Us Story: On Guard release date and what was announced

The Among Us Story: On Guard release date is February 17, 2027. That is the date on the game's Steam store page, and TheSixthAxis reported it on October 9, 2026 as a confirmation from Innersloth, adding that a limited-time demo is available on Steam until October 15. The spin-off was first shown in June 2026.

Steam lists Innersloth as both developer and publisher, and shows the game as coming soon. The page lists no price, so we cannot tell you what it will cost, and we are not going to guess.

What Among Us Story: On Guard is

This is not another round of online lobbies. TheSixthAxis described it in June as a standalone, single-player detective spin-off. You play as the Operator, who is taking part in a Crewmate training program aboard the MIRA R&D vessel, and inside that simulation you control the Guard, who is in charge of shipwide security.

The hook is in Innersloth's own pitch. When a murder happens, you have to prove your innocence and find the Impostor before it reaches the rest of the crew, and Steam says there might be more than one. You still complete tasks to progress and collect clues, and the store page promises three unique endings. TheSixthAxis adds that you can interrogate crewmates and crawl through vents in first person, with a vector-based art style.

The demo: how long you have

The demo is the part with a deadline. Steam lists a separate Among Us Story: On Guard Demo, and TheSixthAxis says it is a limited-time demo that runs until October 15. The year is not stated in that report, but the demo's Steam page shows an original release of June 15, 2026, so the October 15 date points to this year.

Because it is time limited, if you want to see how the interrogation and task loop feels before wishlisting, you should try it this week. We have not played the demo, so we are not offering impressions or a verdict here.

PC requirements and platforms

Steam lists Windows and Mac versions and no Linux version. The minimum spec is modest: Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel i3-4330 processor, 4 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4600 and 2 GB of available storage. The recommended spec raises only the graphics card, to an Nvidia GTX 650, with the other lines unchanged.

Neither TheSixthAxis report lists console platforms, and the store page we checked names none. Treat console versions as unannounced until Innersloth says otherwise. Steam also lists full controller support, including DualSense, and support for nine languages.

Why the release window matters

February 17 lands early in 2027, and we have not compared it against the rest of that quarter's calendar. A single-player spin-off with low system requirements is not competing on spectacle, so the question will be whether the detective loop holds up over a full run.

For Innersloth, the Among Us brand has so far been defined by social multiplayer. A story-driven solo game is a different bet, and the three-endings structure suggests replay is designed around choices rather than lobbies. That is our reading of the store page, not a claim from the studio.

What we do not know yet

The open questions are practical ones. There is no price, no listed console version, no length estimate and no review code or hands-on coverage in the sources we opened.
